If
you are troubled, want help and feel stuck, shorter-term counselling
or longer-term psychotherapy may be the tool you need to help you
through.
While friends and family can provide support in many situations, they
may be too close to the problems; we might want to protect them from
our distress; or we may feel too ashamed of our feelings to share
them with those closest to us. Talking to friends or just reflecting
oneself may keep us with what we already know.
A
psychotherapist can help us go deeper, beyond what we already know.
Patterns of feelings and thought which have been with us for most
of our lives seem 'normal' - psychotherapy helps us connect to what
we have not let ourselves be aware of. It can be hard work - but with
great rewards.

The
FIRST time you send me an e-mail, you will get a message back (usually
very quickly) asking you to confirm that you're a real person and
not a spam machine. Just follow the instructions and your message
will be delivered. If you DON'T get such a message and have never
e-mailed me previously, please check your junk/spam folder, in case
your e-mail spam program misinterprets the message.
Apologies
for all the hassle, but the deluge of spam makes these measures necessary.
NB
to AOL users: for some reason it is not possible for AOL e-mail
addresses to e-mail me, nor me to e-mail them. If you have an AOL
e-mail address, please phone me instead.
